Blood & Dream

NPC's

Redirected from DemonNPC

In rooms and on floors lie NPCs with a various purposes. Upon interacting with them, a dialog window will open allowing the player to ask them about a variety of concepts. Enemies have a rare chance to drop a Concept, unlocking an additional concept to inquire about with NPCs. Each NPC will have their own thoughts or information to offer about a given concept, sometimes unlocking weapons, rings, or other aspects of gameplay.

Sources and community notes

  • The achievements guide gives these locations: the Warlock in secret rooms, a Trader in every level, the Knight in Frog World, Blood Rooms and Black Crystal, Peregrin in the Underground, the Puppet in Gilded Halls and the Waxen Temple, and the Demon by summoning.

Community-sourced (added October 2026, not yet verified in-game). Sources: Steam guide: Achievements guide (updated Jan 11, 2025).

From the official manual

  • The manual introduces these characters: the Wizard, whose small frame is a disguise worn in Dream; the Knight, whose noble presence here has a purpose for you to uncover; the Mirror, a talkative reflection that may reveal things you do not know about yourself; the Trader, a skeletal shopkeeper about whom little is known; the Puppet, a poor soul who may still utter great secrets; the Demon, fearsome and not to be believed; and the Warlock, a Blood Wizard like yourself.
  • It also shows an unnamed character marked only "???", and says uncovering that person's identity is the key to your escape.
  • Note on names: the manual calls the shopkeeper the Trader, while this wiki calls them the Vendor.

From the game's official manual. Unlike the rest of the notes on this page, this is a primary source: it is the developer's own documentation, not community research.
