A perfect tool for stabbing.
A weapon from the Old Earth, and it is older than anyone can remember. Surviving texts praise this weapon's deadliness in combat.

Strategy

The Spadroon acts like a mini Rapier. It has a faster attack, but is shorter and does less damage. Despite its lower damage, the Spadroon should definitely not be underestimated, with a decent speed, reach and thrust which put it painfully close to the title of one of the best in the game. It is ultimately let down by essentially being a direct downgrade to the Rapier, as a high attack speed is not essential for the low-risk, high-distance playstyle that both the Spadroon and the Rapier promote.

It is by all means a direct downgrade to the Mourning Sword as no-one is using either weapon for its cutting damage anyway, so reducing it is ultimately inconsequential.

Very good weapon, but should be replaced by the Rapier or the Mourning Sword as soon as possible. In terms of rings, get rings which will benefit the Rapier or the Mourning Sword, as ideally you will be getting one of the two later in your run.

Sources and community notes

  • Unlock agrees with the guide: discuss Time with the Mirror.
  • The real-world spadroon is a light sword suited to both cutting and thrusting.
