A Fountain is a shallow pool of water that fully replenishes your Vitality when you touch it. The pool drains as it does so, so each fountain works once.
Fountains are the defining feature of the Fountain Room, which always contains one and sometimes contains other things as well. Fountain rooms are shown in green on the mini-map.
