Floors, or levels, are the areas you navigate while playing the game. Each floor is a procedurally generated series of rooms, and contains some unique enemies, aswell as some enemies that are found in other floors. This generation process starts with the Starting Room, and builds outward within a specific set of parameters that varies slightly from floor to floor. Every floor will always contain at least 1 of every room, some with enemies, some without, some with unique purposes, but all of which will contain random structures, enemies, loot, traps, NPC's, and more. Generally speaking, the difficulty of these floors will increase as the player progresses.

Default Floors

These four floors are accessible in series through fighting bosses at the end of each, and entering a portal leading to the next.

Secret Floors

One of the many room variants is the Secret Room. Secret rooms are accessible through gates that blend into walls, and can contain the same features as regular rooms, as well as secret portals to secret floors. Upon exiting a secret floor, you will be taken to the next default floor after the one you entered from (Dungeon - Blood Rooms - Slime Pits, etc.).

Sources and community notes

  • The achievements guide gives the access order: Slime Pits comes after the Wizard Lord; the River comes after the Slime King, or can be reached through a secret level in Slime Pits.
  • The Meat Wizard's Dark Zone is reached through a ceiling hole with the Grand Jump.
  • The Secret Rooms guide says the floors reached through secret rooms carry additional name letters and loot.

From the official manual

  • The manual confirms the dungeons are different on each run, with items, enemies and secrets that may not have appeared before.
